The “Om Bheem Bush” trailer, teaser, and title were all fun. The ads guaranteed continuous amusement.
Three characters are pursuing doctoral degrees: Krishna Kanth (Sree Vishnu), Vinay (Priyadarshi), and Madhav (Rahul Ramakrishna). After one of them does something unpleasant, their professor kicks them out of college. They run away to a village and end up settling in Bhairavapuram.
They pose as scientists who can solve any problem in an effort to generate quick money in the hamlet; they go by the name Bang Bros. Their ‘tricks’ start to work, and the villagers start to believe them.
The daughter of the village chief, Jalaja (Priety Mukundhan), captivates Krishna Kanth. After the local tantric exposes their lack of scientific credibility, they take up his challenge to prove him wrong.
If they possess true abilities, the tantric suggests they investigate a palace where the ghost Sampangi resides in search of a buried treasure. What makes the Bang Bros so effective?
Sree Vishnu, Priyadarshi, and Rahul Ramakrishna, the film’s three leads, provide a plethora of hilarious one-liners. In terms of screen time and comedic timing, all three are about equal. In the film’s latter part, Sree Vishnu, playing the role of hero, risks it all by executing an unconventional sequence. However, he also portrays this episode with great sincerity.
Ayesha Khan, who plays Priyadarshi’s love interest, showcases her ample skin, while Preity Mukundhan, who portrays Sree Vishnu’s lover, doesn’t get much of a chance to shine. All right, Racha Ravi.
Technical:
Aside from the other technological aspects, the production design is what really makes the spectacular palace moments stand out. I am very impressed by the cinematography. The musical selections are uneven.
Excellent dialogue writing is present, however with a fair amount of boothulu. Sharper editing was required.
Analysis:
Our slogan for “Om Bheem Bush” is “No Logic, No Magic.” We get the sense that things are off to a bad start when the film opens with Srikanth Iyengar, playing the role of a professor who recalls how three of his Ph.D. students ruined his life. You won’t find any humour in the so-called comedic scenes. The plot suddenly changes to Bhairavapuram just as we start to lose interest. The actual excitement starts after that. For the better part of an hour, we witness several entertaining events.
The comedic one-liners delivered by Sree Vishnu, Priyadarshi, and Rahul Ramakrishna are hilarious and the actors are in top form. My favourite jokes are those of Rahul Ramakrishna. These three individuals’ antics, in which they claim they can solve any problem, are hilarious. Despite its seeming absurdity, the scene in which these three try to cure a man’s erectile issue is hilarious.
An additional source of humour is the film’s seemingly random scenes.
The film’s second half undoubtedly features an equal amount of comedic moments. The film switches gears and becomes a horror comedy in its second half; a flashback episode usually clarifies the ghost’s motivations for haunting the palace in horror comedies.
Not only that, but “Om Bheem Bush” explains the ghost’s backstory and why it has decided to make this castle its home. However, the explanation of the reason injects a touch of sentimentality while maintaining a comedic tone. Although it seems strange, the ridiculous comedy genre works nicely with Sree Vishnu’s choice to achieve the ghost’s unmet goal.
Despite its several humorous moments, the film features unfiltered language and conversation.
Not suited for family viewing, but there are a lot of overdramatic lines that go in with the plot.
Although it delivers on its promise of providing enjoyment rather than logic, the film is unusually long for its genre. Further editing is necessary.
As a whole, “Om Bheem Bush” features several entertaining episodes courtesy of Priyadarshi, Rahul Ramakrishna, and Sree Vishnu. There is some awkwardness in the film, but it is still fun to see. If you want a better experience, keep your expectations low.
