Love Me If You Dare

Love Me If You Dare Review: Natural Photogenic Appeal

The box office performance of horror films is consistently higher than other genres. They usually succeed in the end, even with modest praise. Ashish Reddy and Dil Raju, who played a family hero in Love Me If You Dare, have produced such a film.

The presence of Vaishnavi Chaitanya, of ‘Baby’ fame, in the starring part also attracts a younger demographic.

Ashish plays YouTuber Arjun, who often goes against the advice of others in his pursuit of the truth about unsolved mysteries.

In an empty flat, he finds the spirit of Divyavathi, who is said to kill everyone who gets too close to her.

Even though he’s in danger, Arjun falls for the ghost and sets off on a perilous quest to learn Divyavathi’s history, where he’ll face many unexpected obstacles.

Divyavathi, who is she exactly? How did she end herself in this condition? The main plot point revolves around how the characters Prathap (Ravi Krishna) and Priya (Vaishnavi Chaitanya) assist Arjun in his mission to unravel the Divyavathi mystery.

As the protagonist, Ashish Reddy fulfilled his role, but the script never gave him a chance to really shine. Any debutante would have looked at home in this part. Ashish, who is trying to prove that he can be a hero, should do something else.

It is a pleasure to see Vaishnavi Chaitanya perform. She has glitz, natural photogenic appeal, and the acting chops to convey nuanced emotions, as she demonstrated in her last feature. Her one-of-a-kind physical look is also versatile enough to work with characters of all ages. The way she looks commands attention.

The role of Simran Choudhary, an expert in skull reconstruction, was completely new to the audience.

The film also featured a significant role by Ravi Krishna, while Rajeev Kanakala made a brief cameo appearance.

Technically, MM Keeravani’s soundtrack for the film’s background music is excellent and fits the bill well. But the tunes aren’t really good and don’t captivate.

The production qualities are decent, and PC Sreeram’s cinematography is a major plus. A decent script and a compelling progression are what’s missing, though.

There are two main types of horror films, according to critics: serious thrillers and horror comedies. Neither is true of this film. Neither a serious horror thriller nor any kind of comedic element are present in this picture.

The director made an effort to make something fresh, but he fell short since viewers don’t buy into the story. While it’s intriguing that the protagonist falls in love with a ghost, the comedy-horror film “Om Bheem Bush” delves into a similar topic not long ago. This eliminates any opportunity to appreciate the concept’s originality.

The story is perplexing rather than convincing. The plot gets annoying instead of mind-bending due to the introduction of too many female characters in the quest to identify the ghost. A lack of originality is on full display in the script’s artificial parts. Despite the revelation of the ghost’s name and a chilly setup for a sequel, the female protagonist’s emotional performance falls flat.

The film has a sentence that says, “baadha em nerpinchadaaniki vacchindo adi nerpinchakunda podhu.” This statement appears twice in the story, yet neither time does it effectively communicate its meaning.

Seeing a film like this from Dil Raju’s production is astonishing, especially because it stars a hero from his own family who is fighting for a spot in the industry.

In sum, fans of horror films will be let down by this picture. This film fails to deliver, even for the younger demographic that adores Vaishnavi Chaitanya for her stunning good looks and powerful acting.

The announcement of a sequel with the working title “Kill me if you love” follows an eventful journey. Therefore, let us be ready for the blow.
