Bhimaa

Bhimaa Movie Review: The Music of Ravi Basrur Isn’t Really Special

Gopichand has teamed up with a Kannada filmmaker known for the hit flick Bhimaa. Although Gopichand has played police officers before, the producers have stressed that this role is different from the norm.

Bhimaa (Gopichand) and Rama are brothers. While Bhimaa displays an aggressive mentality and eventually seeks a profession as a police officer, Rama has a gentle nature and dreams of becoming a pujari. A traumatic event from their youth has severed their ties.

There are a lot of rowdies in Mahendragiri, therefore Bhimaa is there on assignment as a sub-inspector. His feelings for Vidya, a Ph.D. student and part-time teacher, became romantic. On top of that, she is devoted to the teachings of Ravindra Varma, a famous Ayurvedic physician (Nasser).

The turning point in Bhimaa’s life comes when he finds out that a tanker is involved in the illegal transporting of children. Is someone behind the plan to traffic children, and will Rama and Bhimaa ever be able to be together again?

A young, shy Brahmin boy and a tough, tenacious police officer are the two main characters that Gopichand presents. At home, Gopichand does what he does best: acts the part of a police officer while flexing his muscles and putting on shows for huge crowds. As the Brahmin guy Rama, he tries to pull off comedic roles.

Malvika Sharma is playing a stereotypically beautiful part. The screen time that Priya Bhavani Shankar gets is minimal.

Nasser fares well. Saptagiri, Vennela Kishore, Chammak Chandra, and Naresh all put on performances of tired comedy.

In terms of technical excellence, Ravi Basrur’s music isn’t all that noteworthy. There isn’t a single song that really gets to us. This film has first-rate cinematography and production values. Also, the action scenes are top-notch.

Review of the Film:

With its repeated plot, “Bhimaa” is just another conventional action flick.

In recent times, Gopichand tried to play amusing characters, but he was ultimately unsuccessful. Therefore, with his most recent venture, “Bhimaa,” he decided to return to the genre of conventional masala films. Except for the fantasy-infused pre-interval segment, the plot of “Bhimaaa” is completely predictable.

An incident changes the dynamics between two brothers, one known for his kindness and the other for his violence, and the protagonist takes on the role of one of the brothers. This is the basic outline of the plot.

Many famous actors have portrayed similar roles in the past, including Jr. NTR, Rajinikanth, Chiranjeevi, and Late NTR. This storyline is quite reminiscent of films from the 1980s.

The Kannada filmmaker A Harsha, who is making his Telugu film debut, has failed to provide any fresh perspective to this tired plot. The one and only difference between this picture and another one that came out today, Gaami, is that the plot is on a doctor or scientist who conducts unapproved experiments on minors.

The seemingly senseless romance between Gopichand and Malavika occupies a large chunk of the film’s first half. A Ph.D. student named Malavika goes to the police station and enlists the help of a rowdy guy to protect the girls in her hostel from danger. It’s a plot point as tired and clichéd as the ones in Balakrishna’s earlier flicks.

Aside from the oil tanker catastrophe and the action sequence that follows, the first half of the film is completely forgettable. In the film’s second half, Gopichand and Naresh engage in uninspired humorous banter, and the romance subplot between Gopichand and Priya Bhavani Shankar is dull and predictable.

The formulaic mass movie “Bhimaa” is, on the whole, not very good. Both the story and the package are old hat. The great production value and action sequences are the sole redeeming qualities. But the scenes are quite predictable, therefore it’s boring.
