AA21 Telugu-language action thriller and marks Allu Arjun’s 21st film, which is why the project carries this working title. The movie is directed by Koratala Siva, known for popular films like Mirchi and Katamarayudu. This is his third film with Allu Arjun after Sarrainodu (2016) and DJ: Duvvada Jagannadham (2017).

Sudhakar Mikkilineni produces the film under the Yuvasudha Arts banner, with GA2 Pictures joining as co-producer. The makers are planning it as a big-budget multilingual release in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam to reach a wide pan-Indian audience.

The project was announced in July 2020 with the tagline and hashtag #StyleAndSubstance. It was first planned for an early 2022 release, but production slowed down, likely because of Allu Arjun’s tight schedule with Pushpa: The Rise (2021) and Pushpa 2: The Rule (2024). As of November 2025, the film is in advanced production, with principal shooting that began in early 2021 in and around Hyderabad, Telangana.
