Vyooham Movie Review: A Snore Fest
After several setbacks and court battles, “Vyooham” opened in theatres today.
Andhra Pradesh’s political landscape has changed following the passing of Chief Minister Veera Sekhar Reddy. Madan (Ajmal), son of Veera Sekhar Reddy, faces internal party criticism while trying to carry on his father’s work.
Plot twist: Indrababu, film actor Sravan Kalyan, and the Congress party bosses all conspire against Madan when he intends to start his own party and forge his own path in politics.
In spite of everything that has happened, how can Madan emerge victorious? What does he do to make it happen?
Sincere acting came from Ajmal Amir as YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. His performance in this area is flawless. Both YS Bharathi and Manasa Radhakrishnan are similar.
Chandrababu Naidu, played by Dhanunjay Prabhune, turns in a polished performance. He reads Naidu’s nonverbal cues with ease. There is absolutely no resemblance between the actor playing Pawan Kalyan and the real thing.
Three or four houses serve as the primary settings for the film’s inner drama. There is very little value in the production. It is remarkable how RGV uses different angles in a unique way. Undercurrents of music tend to be rather audible.
Analysis:
Some plot points from “Yatra 2” are also featured in “Vyooham” tale. In contrast to the serious political topic and biography “Yatra 2,” the more comedic and parody-oriented “Vyooham” is a welcome change. Even in a serious political film, Ram Gopal Varma’s storytelling is aimless and full of ridicule, which weakens the effect immediately.
Political films typically target members of the target party’s base of support or attack the party’s opponents. Of the two, “Vyooham” falls short. Members of the YSRCP party and Jagan’s followers would rather not own this than deal with it. Somewhat shaky narration is present in this picture.
After YSR’s unexpected death, a number of surprising things happened, setting the stage for the story to begin. The focus moves to Nara Chandrababu Naidu, Pawan Kalyan, and Chiranjeevi as they plot to prevent YS Jagan Mohan Reddy from becoming the leader of the state. Pawan Kalyan and Chiranjeevi spoke at length about their Mana Rajaym political organisation in one episode. Instead of being a powerless politician, Chiranjeevi says Pawan Kalyan should just stay a movie star. The movie’s high point is this hilarious episode.
Common political manoeuvres include scenes showing Chandrababu Naidu’s efforts to smear YS Jagan. Nothing unexpected happens. In this version, Naga Babu is Snake Babu, and Lokesh is the nosy, appreciative guest who is always wanting to know what’s for dinner.
Even if they make people laugh, these scenes have no place in a political film that is clearly trying to promote the YSRC Party.
Instead of focussing on developing an interesting story, Ram Gopal Varma was too busy attacking his political opponents. After the first thirty minutes, “Vyooham” loses all interest and becomes tedious.
Additionally, we are interested in knowing if RGV had his helpers direct the picture instead of him. Aside from showcasing RGV’s ability, “Lakshmi’s NTR” featured intriguing episodes that “Vyooham” lacked.
It becomes tedious to watch in the second half. On top of that, YS Jagan gains nothing from it.
“Vyooham” is so boring that it makes YSRC partygoers want to skip it altogether. The film’s narrative and plot are disjointed. Most of the episodes are based on rumours and speculation. Having said that, not even these work a bit.
