Shivam Bhaje

Shivam Bhaje Movie Review: Screenplay Falls Flat

Since his recent success with “Hidimbha,” Ashwin Babu has landed roles in other upcoming films. Among these, “Shivam Bhaje” is the one that just hit theatres.

Debt collector Chandu (Ashwin Babu) falls head over heels for Binary Chemicals employee Shailaja the moment they meet. Suddenly, Chandu starts to go blind as their friendship develops. The operation restored his vision, but he now perceives the world differently.

A recurring dream involves an incident at Binary Chemical Laboratory. Not only that, but three lab employees have also passed away.

Could you please tell me who is responsible for these killings? How can Chandu use his newfound eyesight to identify and apprehend the true criminal?

Performances by the Artistes: Ashwin Babu gives a generic performance. He primarily gets to flaunt his strength and fight bad guys in his role.

Also playing stereotypical roles are Bollywood actors Arbaaz Khan and Digangana Suryavanshi, as well as Murali Sharma.

Hyper Aadhi acts out his typical hilarious routine.

Cinematography and visual appeal are strong points of the picture, although technical aspects are merely adequate. One advantage is Vikas Badia’s backdrop score.

Analysis of Shivam Bhaje

Recent films like “Shivam Bhaje” try to mimic the success of others by using the same formula. The spiritually themed films “Hanu Man,” “Karthikeya 2,” and “Akhanda” have all been commercial successes. “Shivam Bhaje” follows in similar vein by attempting to imbue a traditional murder mystery with a religious undertone.

Xenotransplantation, or the practice of transferring organs from animals to people, is the subject of this film. On paper, the concept of a human being acquiring canine eyesight by surgical means is fascinating. The new director, Apsar, has attempted to incorporate a devotional component into the murder inquiry while keeping this idea in mind. The religious overtones and the mystery aren’t that interesting, though.

Beyond these two main ideas, the film also alludes to geopolitical tensions between Pakistan and India and China. The uninteresting storyline makes these points seem pointless.

Attempting to be a murder mystery, a love story, a medical thriller, and eventually a religious film, the film bombs at every genre it tries. Unfortunately, the screenplay falls flat.

It would appear that Ashwin Babu considers repeatedly defeating criminal organisations to be heroic. Hyper Aadhi and Ashwin Babu’s crass comedy is another area of weakness. In instance, it is unacceptable for Aadhi to suggest that Ashwin Babu urinate by unzipping his trousers. It’s about time Hyper Aadhi stopped making such childish jokes.

Many people may have lost interest in the film by the time it ends.

The dull narration and lacklustre action in “Shivam Bhaje” bring the film down to mediocrity. No amount of devout fervour from Ashwin Babu has been successful.
